Thank you to everyone who completed my 60 Second Resident Survey which was included in my annual report this year.
The number of responses I received was fantastic, with over 500 residents taking the time to highlight the issues that are most important to them.
I will continue to make sure that your views are represented at Holyrood and ensure that the problems we face in the Borders are kept high on the Scottish Government’s agenda.

71.2% of residents are not satisfied with the public transport links in the Borders.
76.46% of residents would like to see the Borders Railway extended through Hawick and Newcastleton
71.63% of residents support the construction of renewables in the Borders, such as battery storage, solar energy, onshore wind farms or offshore wind farms.
61.80% of residents are not satisfied with the healthcare service provided in the Borders.
56.18% of residents have been impacted by the closure of banks in the Borders.
71.52% of residents do not think there is an adequate supply of affordable homes in the Borders.
86.87% of residents believe more should be done to help women with endometriosis in the Borders.
81.94% of residents do not support a second referendum on Scotland leaving the United Kingdom.
