Rachael Hamilton MSP welcomed S5 Modern Studies pupils from Kelso High School to Parliament on the 13th December.
The S5 students came to learn about the daily life of an MSP in Holyrood as they prepare to sit their Higher Modern Studies prelim exams in the coming year.
The students enjoyed a session at First Ministers Questions followed by a tour of Parliament and questions with Ms Hamilton.
The class learned about how and what work is done in committees and how parliamentary business is carried out.
Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire MSP, Rachael Hamilton said:
“It is so wonderful to be able to discuss my work with young people.
“I believe it is important that young people get a chance to visit the Parliament, as it provides more context to their studies.
“I was impressed by the level of interest of the students and they had some wonderful and very topical questions about life in Holyrood.
“I would like to encourage all young people to get involved in, and learn about politics in order to use their voice to make a difference.
