Local MSP Rachael Hamilton visited Coldstream primary’s P5/6 class.
As part of a Scottish Parliament Outreach Education day, Rachael Hamilton visited Coldstream Primary to discuss her work as a MSP and the goings on inScottish Parliament.
The P5/6 students asked a variety of questions ranging from whether Mrs Hamilton had met the Queen, the biggest challenges in her role, to their own manifesto that wanted to see better disabled access to libraries in the Scottish Borders.
The MSP for Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire will now follow up on Coldstream Primary’s manifesto and see what can be done to improve disabled access to Scottish Borders’ libraries.
Rachael Hamilton MSP said: "Coldstream Primary were really engaged and clued up on their politics.
"I really enjoyed telling them how the Scottish Parliament works and the different aspects to my job from casework to debates and everything else in between.
"I was also really impressed with their manifesto. I will now follow up with the Scottish Borders Council and see how it can ensure libraries in the Scottish Borders can be more friendly to disabled persons."
