After raising endometriosis in the Scottish Parliament, I am please to have secured a meeting between local campaigners and a Scottish Government minister to discuss treatment in the Borders.
Endometriosis affects approximately 1 in 10 women and too often they are left to suffer for far too long before they receive diagnosis and treatment for endometriosis.
This is a national problem but it is particularly bad in the Borders and rural areas.
I want to see a specialist clinic established locally to reduce waiting times for women in need of urgent care.
I look forward to continuing to work with local campaigners to tackle the appalling suffering many women are going through while waiting on essential healthcare.
