Rachael Hamilton MSP has put her support behind this year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning which will be held on Friday 28th September. Last year thousands of people across the UK took part in a Coffee Morning event, raising around £27m for Macmillan.
The local MSP joined with Janice Preston, Macmillan Head of Services in Scotland for the charity’s flagship fundraising campaign which aims to raise millions to help people with cancer live life as fully as they can.
Those wishing to take part can either hold one themselves or join in a public event near them. Many local organisations are taking part including Hawick High school, Border Toyota and Lennel House Nursing Home.
Rachael Hamilton MSP for Ettrick, Roxburgh & Berwickshire said ‘The work of Macmillan and their nurses really helps makes the lives of people living with cancer as comfortable as possible.’
‘The work that they do really helps families with the essential medical, practical and emotional support that they need at a difficult time’
‘Therefore, I would urge anyone who can to take part by baking, donating or volunteering’
